Facebook channel building: a Fanpage reached 11.5 million views and 485% more messages in 90 days

Background & challenge

Many businesses have had a Fanpage for years. But the Fanpage only works as an “information page”: few viewers and almost no purchase inquiries by message. Posts are mostly product photos and promotion announcements.

Business owners usually get stuck on three things:

  • No dedicated content person. Filming and editing happen on a whim, and the posting rhythm keeps breaking.
  • Content that doesn’t fit how Facebook distributes today. Users watch short videos (Reels) more than image posts.
  • No way to measure business results. There are likes, but no idea how many people actually messaged to ask about buying.

LDH Media applies the same channel-building method it uses on TikTok to Facebook: short videos organized by content track, posted consistently, optimized for Reels, combined with ads once there are good videos. The 90-day goal: a strong increase in views, and more importantly, an increase in message conversations.

Channel diagnosis

Meta Business Suite data for the 3 Fanpages (90 days, 28/02 – 28/05) shows three different “channel types”.

Fanpage 1 – the high-view channel.

  • 11,485,764 views (+246%), 310 new message conversations (+485%).
  • An average of about 127,600 views per day (calculated from the dashboard).
  • The chart has one very high peak in early April, followed by two more surges in late April and mid-May.

Fanpage 2 – the breakout from a low base.

  • 9,927,257 views (+1,374%), 157 conversations (+2,517%).
  • The previous period had an estimated 673,000 views and about 6 conversations (back-calculated from the growth percentages on the dashboard).
  • The chart has many separate peaks, each one a video that spread widely.

Fanpage 3 – fewer views, but many inquiries.

  • 1,058,115 views (+695%), 588 conversations (+378%).
  • The chart rises steadily from April, with a view baseline well above the early period.

The most notable metric is conversations per 100,000 views (calculated from the dashboard):

Fanpage Conversations / 100,000 views
Fanpage 1 about 2.7
Fanpage 2 about 1.6
Fanpage 3 about 55.6

Fanpage 3 has the fewest views, but its messaging rate is more than 20x that of the other two Fanpages. This is the difference between broad-reach content and content that hits the buying audience.

Content strategy

LDH Media’s framework for building a business Facebook channel:

Phase 1 – Foundation: channel direction

  1. Define the target audience and the questions they typically ask before buying.
  2. Split into 3–4 content tracks: know-how, behind the scenes, real customers, products.
  3. Standardize the brand look: profile picture, cover photo, message button, automated welcome message.

Phase 2 – Activation: produce and post consistently

  1. Write short scripts and approve them before filming to save the business owner’s time.
  2. Film in batches and edit in vertical Reels format.
  3. Keep a steady posting rhythm. Each video is a “try” that lets the algorithm find the right viewers.

Phase 3 – Scale: multiply the good videos

  1. Read the data for each video: views, watch time, messages generated.
  2. Make new versions from topics that already spread well.
  3. Run ads on videos with good signals, optimized for messages, to turn views into purchase inquiries.

Results

Fanpage Views (90 days) vs. previous 90 days New message conversations vs. previous 90 days
Fanpage 1 11,485,764 +246% 310 +485%
Fanpage 2 9,927,257 +1,374% 157 +2,517%
Fanpage 3 1,058,115 +695% 588 +378%

Fanpage 1’s dashboard is shown at the top of the page. The other two Fanpages:

Meta Business Suite, 90 days (28/02 – 28/05): Fanpage with 9,927,257 views (+1,374%), 157 message conversations started (+2,517%)

Meta Business Suite, 90 days (28/02 – 28/05): Fanpage with 1,058,115 views (+695%), 588 message conversations started (+378%)

Analysis: where the growth came from

For a sales Fanpage, results can be split into: views × share of viewers who send a message.

Fanpages 1 and 2 grew mainly through views. Views rose 246% and 1,374%. Both charts have big peaks, showing that growth came from a number of videos that spread widely. The messaging rate is low because the videos also reached people with no buying need yet.

Fanpage 3 grew through both. Views rose 695% with a steadily rising baseline. Its messaging rate is the highest of the three channels. The content reaches the people who actually need the product.

The weak spots and how to fix them:

  • Views are uneven from day to day. Fanpages 1 and 2 depend on a few bursts of viral videos. Between peaks, views drop sharply. Fix: keep a steady posting rhythm to get more “boosts”, and keep developing topics that already spread.
  • Fanpages 1 and 2 have a low messaging rate. More than 10 million views but only a few hundred conversations. Fix: add a clear call to message in the video and caption, and run message-optimized ads on videos that are spreading.
  • A conversation is not yet an order. The dashboard only measures conversations started. The business needs a fast-response team and a sales script to turn messages into orders.

Lessons for business owners

  • Measure messages, not just views. Fanpage 3 shows that 1 million well-targeted views can bring more customers than 10 million broad views.
  • Short vertical video is the main format. Product photos and promotion announcements struggle to spread.
  • Keep a steady posting rhythm. Views come in waves; a channel that posts consistently has more chances to break out.
  • Multiply the topics that win. One video that spreads well is a hint for a whole series of follow-ups.
  • Have someone ready to answer messages before the channel grows, so no customers are missed.

Growth rates are compared with the previous 90 days, according to Meta Business Suite data.

Actual results depend on the product, pricing, inventory, budget and platform policies. This is not a guarantee of results for every client.

Is this your situation?

  • The Fanpage has existed for a long time, but each post only gets a few dozen views, mostly from people we know.
  • We post regularly but get almost no purchase inquiries by message.
  • Some videos reached a few hundred thousand views, but then the channel went quiet again and we didn't know how to repeat it.
  • No one to shoot and edit; doing it ourselves means posting whenever there's time, so the rhythm keeps breaking.
