Shopee management: 30-day sales up 40.85%, 869 orders, 8.52% conversion rate

Background & challenge

This is a domestic Shopee store managed by LDH Media. The store name is hidden under a confidentiality agreement.

The store already had stable traffic. The problem was that sales didn’t match the number of viewers. The owner faced two familiar options:

  • Spend more on ads to bring in more visits.
  • Get the customers already visiting to buy more, i.e. raise the conversion rate.

LDH Media made the second option the focus. The reason is simple: if the product page doesn’t close well, part of every visit bought with ads is wasted.

The goal for the 30-day period: grow sales and orders on existing traffic, while keeping cancellations under control.

Diagnosis from the data

The Shopee Sales Analytics dashboard (30 days, 23/05 – 21/06/2025, order type: confirmed orders) shows the following:

  • Sales of 134,438,880 VND (+40.85%).
  • Orders: 869 (+47.54%).
  • Cancelled orders: 62 (+6.90%).
  • Conversion rate: 8.52% (+1.19% per the dashboard).
  • Visits: 9,778.

A few derived metrics (calculated from dashboard data):

  • Average order value about 154,700 VND (134.44 million ÷ 869 orders).
  • Sales per visit about 13,700 VND (134.44 million ÷ 9,778 visits).
  • Estimated number of buyers about 833 (9,778 × 8.52%). So each buyer placed about 1.04 orders on average.
  • Cancellation rate about 7.1% relative to confirmed orders (62 ÷ 869).

The bright spot is the 8.52% conversion rate. For Shopee, this is a good level. It shows that images, pricing and reviews are doing their job of closing orders.

The “bottlenecks” are in two places. First, traffic is still small, so absolute sales remain modest. Second, cancellations are still rising, though more slowly than successful orders.

Growth strategy

LDH Media’s framework for Shopee stores with stable traffic but under-optimized conversion:

Phase 1 – Foundation: fix the product pages

  1. Standardize cover images, titles and variants around the keywords customers search on Shopee.
  2. Review descriptions, size charts and return policies to cut questions and reduce wrong orders.
  3. Pin good reviews with real photos to the top to build trust.

Phase 2 – Activation: planned promotions

  1. Schedule promotions around double-date sales (5.5, 6.6) instead of discounting across the board.
  2. Use shop vouchers, bundles and minimum order thresholds to raise conversion while protecting margin.
  3. Check the post-promotion price against competitors in the same segment.

Phase 3 – Scale: push traffic to the SKUs that convert well

  1. Track conversion rate by product, not just for the whole store.
  2. Prioritize ads and display placements for high-converting SKUs.
  3. Expand traffic once product pages close well, so every unit of ad spend brings back more orders.

Results

Metric 30-day result vs. previous 30 days
Sales 134,438,880 VND +40.85%
Orders (confirmed) 869 +47.54%
Cancelled orders 62 +6.90%
Conversion rate 8.52% +1.19%
Visits 9,778 —
Average order value (calculated from the dashboard) about 154,700 VND Down about 4.5%

The store’s Sales Analytics dashboard is shown at the top of the page. The visits chart for the period fluctuates by day, with a clear peak around early June that coincides with the 6.6 promotion.

Analysis: where the growth came from

Shopee sales can be split into: visits × conversion rate × order value.

  • Orders grew 47.54%. This is the main driver of growth.
  • Order value dipped slightly. The previous period was an estimated 162,000 VND per order; this period is about 154,700 VND (back-calculated from the growth percentages on the dashboard). That is a drop of about 4.5%.
  • Result: sales grew 40.85%, less than the growth in orders.

Orders growing faster than sales is expected when a store runs bundles and vouchers. Discounts help customers decide faster, but each order is a bit smaller. This is an acceptable trade-off, as long as margin per order stays positive.

The dashboard doesn’t show the percentage change in visits. So we can’t yet say how much of the growth came from traffic and how much from conversion. What is certain is that conversion rate rose, and stands at 8.52%.

The weak spots and how to fix them:

  • Cancellations rose 6.9% (62 orders, about 7.1% of confirmed orders). Common causes are slow shipping, customers picking the wrong variant, or customers ordering from several shops and cancelling some. Fix: state variants and delivery times clearly, confirm high-value orders by message, and pack on the same day.
  • Order value fell. Set sensible voucher thresholds, for example above the current average order value, to encourage customers to add more items.
  • Traffic is still small. Once product pages close well, this is a sensible time to increase keyword ads.

Lessons for store owners

  • Fix product pages before increasing ads. New visits are only valuable when conversion is good.
  • Track conversion rate by SKU. The store-wide rate can hide SKUs that are dragging the store down.
  • Run promotions on a schedule, with thresholds. Planned discounts lift orders without eroding profit.
  • Treat cancellations as a key metric. Cancelled orders mean packing, shipping and time lost entirely.
  • Compare order count with sales. Orders growing faster than sales means order value is falling. You need to know whether that is intended or not.

Actual results depend on the product, pricing, inventory, budget and platform policies. This is not a guarantee of results for every client.

Is this your situation?

  • The Shopee store gets steady views every day, but orders never seem to grow.
  • Shopee Ads cost money and I don't know which products deserve more budget.
  • Every double-date sale I scramble to create vouchers, worried that deep discounts will mean losses.
  • A few dozen orders get cancelled every month: packing effort with no money collected.
